Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association takes ownership of Coastal Uncorked

The Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association announced today at their annual meeting the acquisition of Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine & Spirits Festival. This event started in 2009 showcases the Grand Strand as a top culinary destination treating visitors and locals to the best in food, wine, spirits, arts and entertainment.

Coastal Uncorked will be the signature event brand for the hospitality association and utilized to promote the culinary side of the hospitality industry and the destination. It will continue the mission of the association representing, educating & promoting the best in the hospitality & tourism industry here along the Grand Strand and grow needed scholarship dollars to keep future tourism and culinary leaders in the community.

“We felt that it was time for the festival to take the next step in its development by transitioning from a dedicated group of volunteers to a full time staff committed to growing the event and the Grand Strand hospitality industry,” said Heidi Vukov, founder of Coastal Uncorked.

“We believe the leadership, time and hard work by the board and volunteers to create and grow Coastal Uncorked to what is today is a testament of their dedication to the event and the Grand Strand,” said Stephen Greene, President & CEO for the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association. “This merger will allow MBAHA staff, who has a strong background in event planning, to build on the foundation they have created.”

Coastal Uncorked will be rolled into and managed under the umbrella of the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association and the current Coastal Uncorked, Inc., 501(c)(4) organization will be dissolved.

The Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association is the voice of the Hospitality Industry and a tourism advocate, whose role is to promote the industry’s needs, ensure a healthy tourism economy, and educate our membership and the public about industry issues. MBAHA has been in the hospitality and tourism business since 1974 and is consistently one of the largest local Hospitality Associations in the United States, representing the “best of the beach”. We are a trade organization representing the interest of Lodging, Restaurants, Golf, Entertainment, Attractions and Hospitality Services members.
