H1N1 Influenza (Swine) Flu Outbreak Information
April 28, 2009 - The current H1N1 influenza A (swine) outbreak in Mexico and parts of the United States, Canada, and other countries has been featured heavily in the news media for the past few days. At this time, the extent to which the virus will spread is unknown. Government and health officials are urging people to be prepared but not panicked.
World Health Organization (WHO) officials do not recommend closing international borders or restricting international travel. It is considered prudent for people who are ill to delay international travel and for people developing symptoms following international travel to seek medical attention. Travelers should heed the advice of medical experts and consider their personal conditions when determining how best to manage health concerns.
