MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association is holding its 15th annual Public Safety Appreciation Luncheon from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Crabby Mike’s Calabash Seafood Company, Surfside Beach. State, county and municipal law enforcement officers, fire fighters, emergency management and EMS employees will be recognized at the event, with more than 300 public safety personnel expected to attend. The event is hosted and sponsored by Crabby Mike’s.
Each year the MBAHA holds an appreciation lunch for leaders and officers of public safety as well as MBAHA members. The event originated in response to the great demands during the peak tourism season.
In addition to the luncheon, billboards will be placed throughout the Grand Strand displaying a message thanking public safety personnel for putting their lives on the line every day. The billboard campaign is presented through the generous support of MBAHA members.
Hospitality Association members donated gifts and prizes as a way for the Hospitality Industry to say “thank you” to those people who keep us and our visitors safe. In addition Ripley’s Aquarium and Marshall Light and Sound Rental are Audio/Video sponsors for the event.
“We are proud to salute our public safety professionals who give so much and endure many hardships in responding to emergency situations,” said Stephen Greene, MBAHA President & CEO. “The luncheon and billboard campaign are our way to say ‘thank you’ and express the appreciation of the entire tourism industry for all our law enforcement and emergency personnel do to protect and serve the Grand Strand. Without their assistance, we could not host our many festivals, events and, of course, the visitors to our wonderful community.”
